Regarding thoughts, “name it, frame it and forget it!” You’re describing the classic Buddhist definition of the monkey mind! That voice in the head can be a major pain in the rear! What I’ve learned is to name that voice. For me, it’s “Catastrophe Chris!” Once you named it, the next step is to be aware of it without judgement. There’s a great acronym called RAIN.

R-Recognize the thought. Ah it’s that negative voice again!
A-Analyze it. What is this thought?
I - Investigate it. Where is it coming from? Why is this even taking up space in my head?
N - nonjudgmental. Bring no judgement to the thought other than accepting that it’s entered your head and now it’s time to dismiss it!

I’ve learned that we can’t control what thoughts enter our heads, but we can sure as hell control their dismissal!
